The West Texas District of the Church of the Nazarene is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. This is not only an historic year for the district, but also for the International Church of the Nazarene. The denomination as a whole also celebrates it's centennial year this year as well. The Church of the Nazarene became an international denomination in Pilot Point, TX on October 13, 1908. There the Church of the Nazarene was united with the Holiness Church of Christ. Other denominations before and after have come together to be a part of the Church of the Nazarene. From its beginning the Church of the Nazarene has had a global as well as local concern. Nazarene missionaries were already in parts of Africa and Europe. Today the Church of the Nazarene is in over 140 countries worldwide.
